Governance, ownership and the Sterling board
A private company, Sterling was founded in 1991 and bought by Rupert Morley, Chief Executive Officer and Jeremy Beglin, Chief Operating Officer in 2005.
Together with Chief Financial Officer Nick Smith they form the Sterling group board, working closely with the Sterling executive team (comprising country and group function managers) to provide clients with an impeccable service, globally.
The board are dedicated to innovation in relocation service delivery. Under their leadership, the company has grown rapidly - developing management information systems, introducing new relocation services and continually improving service delivery.
Meet the board
Rupert Morley, Chief Executive Officer
Prior to becoming Sterling’s CEO, Rupert was CEO of Hamptons International and Propertyfinder.co.uk. Rupert has a degree in Economics from Cambridge University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He has the GMS qualification from ERC, and the Certificate of Professional Competence for National and International Road Haulage Operations. He is one of the six Directors of FIDI and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Jeremy Beglin, Chief Operating Officer
Jeremy has many years of senior level experience in the relocation and moving industry. He previously served as Chief Executive of Rowan Simmons and President of SIRVA Relocation Europe. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Programme for Leadership Development (PLD).
Nick Smith, Chief Financial Officer
Nick is a chartered accountant with over 20 years’ experience, most notably at Diageo and Carlson Wagonlit. Nick’s experience of managing local, regional and global finance teams underpins our finance organisation, enabling us to service clients anywhere in the world.
