Insight into assignment policy best-practice gained at FEM event in Frankfurt

10-03-2011

The session, hosted by KPMG in Frankfurt and held on the 21st February, was the inaugural event from the Forum for Expatriate Management’s (FEM) German Chapter.

Keynote speakers Thomas Efkemann (Head of HR Global Mobility at SAP) and Monika Kumetat (Partner - International Executive Services at KPMG AG) gave fascinating insights into the topic from the standpoint of large global organisations. Mr Efkemann presented a case study on SAP’s approach to policy, with Mrs Kumetat following with hints and tips on designing an effective international mobility strategy.

Moderator Oliver Schilling said the topic provoked some interesting discussions and a great atmosphere. “The two presentations gave a well rounded view of the topic of international assignment policy structure and content. And the networking event that followed gave the 51 mobility professionals who joined us the opportunity to debate the topic with old acquaintances and new contacts, while enjoying some excellent food and beverages.”

The next event will be in Munich in April. The topic and agenda have yet to be confirmed but if you are interesting in attending or receiving more information, please email oliver@totallyexpat.com
