London-wide riots causing delivery delays

09-08-2011

London continues to be hit by riots.

Yesterday saw the third consecutive night of looting, violence and attacks on property, stretching from Ealing in the west, Enfield in the north, Hackney in the east, and as far south as Croydon. Shops and businesses were looted while scores of cars and buses were set alight.

Roads have been closed across London as police attempt to curb the violence and as local residents and business owners repair the damage done to homes and businesses. This is inevitably affecting household goods deliveries in and around London – we are currently experiencing delays in some areas. Any affected assignees will be contacted and kept informed, and we envisage that the majority of shipments will go ahead as normal, but we do ask for your patience in this matter.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact your account manager. Please ask assignees with concerns to get in touch with their Sterling representative.
